The Jerusalem Intercultural Center (JICC), stationed in the Old City, increases Jerusalemites’ cultural competency; their ability to understand and adapt to diverse identities, cultures, practices and observances. JICC recognizes that each population in Jerusalem has their own needs and believes that they all deserve equitable access to applicable solutions, resources and assistance. Throughout the years, the JICC has focused on cultural competency in healthcare, the municipality, the police force and more sectors in order to increase system-wide competency throughout the city. The JICC also creates opportunities for cross-cultural community engagement in the city.

Some examples of the access that the JICC helped secure is increasing the number of Arabic speakers in the municipality staff and creating courses at hospitals that increase competency in staff.

Foundation Funding supports cultural programs such as its Open Holidays festival and Jerusalem Tolerance Week, as well as pilot programs.
