Celebrating Ten Years of Leichtag Commons…
Today is an exciting milestone for us! A decade ago, on December 20, 2012, the Leichtag Foundation acquired the Paul Ecke Poinsettia Ranch, and embarked on an exciting adventure to nurture and support our community, enable vibrant Jewish expression and care for the earth that sustains us. For 10 years, the Commons has been a physical platform for advancing Leichtag Foundation’s strategic areas on a living campus.
We could have never imagined then what you would help create. Since those early days, thousands of community members, visitors from near and far, local activists, grassroots social entrepreneurs, Jerusalemite friends, nonprofit leaders, philanthropists and other luminaries have been instrumental in shaping Leichtag Commons into a home for Jewish experiences, social entrepreneurship, experimentation, community impact, and deep connection with land.
From Coastal Roots Farm to the Hive, from large-scale Jewish holiday celebrations to intimate gatherings, thanks to you Leichtag Commons has become a true home for so many. Our extraordinary founders Toni and Lee Leichtag z’l made it possible, you, our community, made it happen. Thank you for your support and l’chaim to the next many decades to come!
