Leadership Counts: Candid Conversations During Turbulent Times

March 4 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PST

Pressing needs in our community have inspired another round of Leadership Counts. In this session, we will understand disparities in vaccine access among communities most impacted by the pandemic. Black, Latinx and Asian San Diegans have suffered from higher rates of hospitalization and death from COVID-19 than White residents. Yet, the rates of vaccination among eligible San Diegans of color are disproportionately far lower than among White residents. Hurdles to accessing the vaccine in a diverse population include language barriers, challenges finding appointments, and transportation. How can philanthropy play a role in local vaccine distribution equity?

Speakers:

  • Rakesh Patel, Chief Executive Officer, Neighborhood Healthcare
  • Adama Dyoniziak, Executive Director, Champions for Health
  • Bill York, Chief Executive Officer, 211 San Diego
  • Sharyn Goodson, Vice President Philanthropy & Organizational Development, Leichtag Foundation – Facilitator
