#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings. In this interactive session, participation in group discussions and exercises will help to develop the confidence and skills to promote yourself effectively. During our #IamRemarkable workshop you will:
- Unpack data and research regarding self-promotion and unconscious bias
- Go through the main exercise to help you articulate your achievements and practice self-promotion
- Have a discussion and share take-home exercises
We will be capping attendance at 30 participants.
Lakeya Cherry, DSW, MSSW is an executive coach, social worker, educator, thought leader, and Google #IamRemarkable and Certified Dare to Lead™Facilitator. Through her work, Lakeya has developed programming and facilitated content that has touched the lives of many around the globe.
She is the Chief Executive Officer of The Network for Social Work Management, an international organization dedicated to strengthening leadership in health and human services. She earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Legal Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Dr. Cherry earned her Doctorate in Social Work from the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.
Dr. Cherry is a StartingBloc Fellow and holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from the National Human Services Assembly in collaboration with The Fundraising School at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, the Executive Education Program at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, and ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Dr. Cherry is a board member for the California Institute for Behavioral Health Solutions (CIBHS), Advisor for The New York Center for Children, and Council Member for the Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Adelphi University School of Social Work.
