Please join the Hive and Coastal Roots Farm in a modern twist on ancient Shavuot tradition, where we gather together to participate in a ritual that was practiced by Jewish farming communities on the eve of Shavuot. All we ask of you is to come with an open mind and heart, and a willingness to partake in an unique experience called an “Amen Circle” with Chaya Gilboa, Leichtag Foundation Director of Jewish Engagement – involving tasting special fruits, bestowing blessings on loved ones, and celebrating in community. If you have the following items in your home, please bring them, although they are not necessary to participate: fruit off a vine, fruit off a tree, a vegetable from the ground, and something that is baked (cookie, bread, etc).

At the end of this ritual, we will conclude with a virtual parade of our “first fruits.” Bring your own “first fruit,” literal or figurative (think that new loaf of sourdough bread you just learned to bake, your first strawberry of the season, a new painting, etc) and we will showcase them in a virtual parade.
