The Maintenance Crew Member reports directly to the Leichtag Commons Operations Manager. This person is directed to perform work and tasks related to the day to day operations and maintenances of the grounds of Leichtag Commons. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean environment for the entire property including but not limited to buildings, homes, barns, modular, greenhouses, other structures, farm, ranch, grounds, and other properties for the general operations and Foundation programs.
The Community Agriculture Program and Design Manager will work closely with Daron Joffe, also referred to as “Farmer D” on client relations, project management, farm design and programming, sales and project coordination including site visits requiring travel. This position is responsible for producing client facing farm programs and design presentations as well as serving in a thought leadership role on behalf of Leichtag Foundation through its recent acquisition of Farmer D Consulting. Coastal Roots Farm is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee all areas of production, including crop fields, food forest, vineyard, animals and composting. The Farm Manager will manage five farm employees, and oversee farm budgets and strategic planning efforts. In addition, the Farm Manager will bring strong Jewish content knowledge to infuse site planning and programming with Jewish practices and traditions. In addition, the Farm Manager will support the development of farmer training and educational programs at Coastal Roots Farm. As a member of the farm leadership team, the Farm Manager will work closely with senior staff to support organizational development and health.
Coastal Roots Farm is seeking a full‐time, year‐round Farm Distribution Coordinator to support our efforts to share fresh fruits and vegetables with the community. We primarily distribute our food through an on‐site pay‐what‐you‐ can farm stand, a CSA program, off‐site pop‐up markets and to local hunger relief organizations. The Farm Distribution Coordinator will work with the Associate Director, the Vegetable Production Coordinator and the Social Enterprise Manager to support all of these efforts and ensure successful and efficient implementation both on‐site and off‐site. Coastal Roots Farm is seeking temporary, part‐time Community Farmers to support the development and maintenance of our five‐acre vegetable production fields. Community Farmers will work alongside our Vegetable Production Coordinator to assist in all aspects of farming, including greenhouse propagation, field preparation, transplanting, direct seeding, cultivation, harvesting and post‐harvest handling. Coastal Roots Farm is seeking temporary, part‐time Food Forest Community Farmers to support the development and maintenance of our food forest and vineyard. Community Farmers will work to support the Food Forest Coordinator in perennial plant care; infrastructure improvement and maintenance; nursery care and development; volunteer programming; data collection; and general tasks as needed. This position require a good eye for noticing both details and patterns in the food forest, ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks and good interpersonal communication skills. Our Food Forest is just over a year old and is home to over 1,400 Mediterranean and sub‐tropical plants.
