Media Relations for Nonprofits

Nonprofits are asked to work media relations magic with very few resources. This workshop will explore and provide tangible takeaways to help nonprofits strategically approach media relations. Join us and learn to:

  • Identify objectives and goals with limited staff and budget capacity
  • Use partnerships and collective action
  • View “media” in a broader way than traditional news outlets
  • Develop effective proactive pitches and reactive statements

Panelists include Heather Milne Barger, director of communications and marketing, KPBS; Ann Marie Price, director, Scatena Daniels Communications; and Laila Aziz, director of operations, Pillars of the Community.
